RHEA CHAKRABORTY PLEA’s STATES THAT FROM THE EVIDENCE AVAILABLE IT IS CLEAR THAT SUSHANT WAS THE ONLY CONSUMER OF DRUGS

Rhea Chakraborty has made new allegations against the deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s family members before the Bombay High Court, while she was seeking for bail in the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) case and it was claimed by her that as per the evidence recovered by the agencies, it was clear that Sushant was the only consumer of drugs and he used others around him to enable his drug habit.

The 28-year-old actor was again remanded to judicial custody on Tuesday, 22nd September, 2020 on the basis of remand application and replies filed by the prosecution side. The application of Rhea states, “The said documents evidently indicate that Sushant Singh Rajput was the only consumer of drugs and he was directing his staff members, Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant to obtain his drugs. Apart from that, the prosecution has further made statements with effect to that the applicant and her brother Showik were also used by late actor for procuring his drugs.”

The application of Rhea further mentions that based on the information available publicly, the cook of the late actor, Neeraj has himself stated to CBI and Mumbai Police that three days prior to the death of the actor, Sushant had himself asked the cook to make ganja joints/ doobies and place them in his bedroom. And accordingly, the same was done by the cook and he kept the joints in a box in his bedroom. Post the death of the actor, the box was found to be empty by the cook.

The applicant further pleaded that she and her brother were being targeted in this witch hunt game and Rhea has mentioned in her application that Sushant had himself accepted that he had developed a liking for ganja sometime in 2015-16 while he was shooting for Kedarnath. She also stressed the point that the prosecution should focus and investigate how the late actor used to procure his drugs from his staff which was apparently hired by him and his sister Priyanka way before he met the applicant.

The applicant has also repeated her allegations against the sister of late actor Priyanka, and she alleged that Priyanka was a heavy drunkard and consumed large amounts of alcohol on one night in April 2019 and even groped the applicant. After this incident, Sushant confronted his sister, and the relation between Sushant and his family soured. She further stated that Sushant was under the apprehension that his brother-in-law OP Singh, an IPS officer would use his influence against the actor and threaten him.

The applicant has also alleged that Sushant’s father had remarried when he was quite young and this might have strained their relationship and could be one of the reasons why they barely spoke to each other. The application also mentions that the actor’s mother was under depression and even his sister takes medication for some ailment and the applicant suspects that the father of the deceased suffers from bipolar disorder.

There were certain blind items published against the late actor calling him a difficult person to work with and people had issues with his attitude. These events disturbed the late actor a lot.

The application further states the reason as to why the applicant left Sushant’s residence-

“On the morning of 8th June, Sushant was on his phone incessantly and when the applicant asked what was he doing, he showed her the messages that he was exchanging with his sister Priyanka between 10:14 am to 10:18 am. The applicant was shocked to learn that his sister had suggested a list of medications to take. The applicant further explained to Sushant that given his seriousness, and the fact that he was already prescribed medications by his doctors, he should not take any further medication, least of all being prescribed from his sister who had no medical qualifications. She further told him about the side effects of mixing a cocktail of such unlawfully prescribed medication along with his ongoing habit of smoking cigarettes containing ganja, which would have some serious impact on his health. The applicant and the actor have a disagreement on this and the late actor proceeded to ask the applicant to move out of his house along with her baggage and other belongingness as his sister Meetu was coming to live with him and would take care of him.”

It was further contended by the applicant, that she was suffering from her own anxiety issues and often endured panic attacks and the recent conduct of Sushant had aggravated her symptoms. However, it was stated by the applicant that even though she was not comfortable leaving Sushant alone and she had even arranged a therapy session for herself with Dr. Susan Walker for herself. The applicant also requested if she could leave after her session, but the actor insisted that she should leave before his sister arrived, and this was the last time she saw Sushant alive.

The next day on 9th June, the applicant received a text from Sushant which she didn’t respond to as she was too “anxious and unclear about his behavior” and further blocked his number on the same day. On 10th June, the applicant’s brother Showik received a call from the late actor to ask about Rhea’s well being and the applicant further contended that this clarified that the actor didn’t want her to come back or else he would usually call her back and ask her to return.

The bail application of Rhea and Showik was heard on 24th September,2020, Thursday before Justice SV Kotwal in the Bombay High Court.
