[COVID-19]: Health Team Gets Attacked While Screening People In Indore [Watch Video]

While screening residents of a locality that has been labelled as the Covid-19 spot, it was seen that the police and health officials were attacked mercilessly. The incident took place in Indore on 1st April, 2020. 

"We had gone there yesterday also. Everything was okay. Today, the stone pelting started all of a sudden", a doctor said the statement. Although no injuries were reported, the violence shook the doctors and medical staff altogether. 

The locality has as many as 54 families kept in isolation to which health teams have to come and routinely check on them while monitoring any new Covid-19 cases. 

The police have been asked by the medical team to help identify the stone-pelters. 

DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra has said that a case under Section 353 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty, will be registered against them. 

The positive cases in Indore reached 19 on 1st April, 2020 thus resulting in a total of 63 cases. Further to which this is the second time the workers have been attacked in Indore.
