Karnataka State Legal Service Authority Settles 1,15,925 Cases via E-Lok Adalat

A number of cases were pending in the High Court. To resolve this a mega e-Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Justice N V Ramana, a Supreme Court Judge who is also the Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). 

On Saturday, September 19, 2020, a total of 1,15,925 cases were resolved by the mega e- Lok Adalat which included 7383 pre-litigation and a number of pending cases.

It resolved a total bulk amount of Rs 357.64 crore. Of this amount, Rs 27.33 crore was recovered as fine, penalty, and was given to the State government, and the rest amount was paid to the person making a claim in motor vehicle accident cases and many other civil cases.

According to a press release of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, a total of 875 benches were organized throughout the state for regulating the e-Lok Adalat.
