Supreme Court Bar Association Elections To Be Held On December 12 [Read Legal Notice]

The Election Committee in a notice dated November 16, 2018, has notified its decision to conduct the election of the Executive Committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on December 12, 2018.

As per the notice, the provisional voters list has been published and displayed on the notice board and on the SCBA website.

The publication of a provisional voters list will be followed by registering objections and these objections will be decided by the Election Committee. Thereafter, on the basis of the decision of the Election Committee, the final voter list will be published and displayed on the notice board.

Nominations for various posts can be filed from November 28, 2018, till November 30, 2018, after which a draft list of candidates will be prepared.

This list will then be open for the filing of objections and for withdrawal of candidature. The Election Committee will decide on the objections after receiving the same in writing, specifying the ground of objections. The final list of candidates will be made public on December 4, 2018.

On December 11, 2018, a debate of the candidates for the post of President and Hony. Secretary will be conducted in the Supreme Court Lawns. Each candidate will be allowed to speak for maximum five minutes.

The polling will begin at 5 PM on December 12, 2018, in Library 1 in the Supreme Court premises and all those furnishing valid SCBA cards or proximity cards will be allowed to cast their votes.
