At the designated time of 10am, as per the summons issued to Ashish Mishra to come to the Crime Branch Office in Police Lines in Kheri, there is no trace of Ashish Mishra. News reports indicate that he is changing locations and is absconding, with several UP Police teams searching for him.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha expresses its serious concern and shock at no arrests having been made of Ashish Mishra, Sumit Jaiswal, Ankit Das and other accomplices involved in the Lakhimpur Kheri Farmers Massacre. There is only information on a Notice issued in the name of Ashish Mishra, summoning him for questioning. UP Government and Ajay Mishra Teni are deploying protective tactics to ensure that Ashish Mishra is roaming free.
Moreover, even though Sumit Jaiswal was clearly in the Thar vehicle escaping from the vehicle and later on was seen giving bytes to media, his arrest did not take place so far either. Similarly, a video clip where a police official was seen questioning a person caught at the incident, who is saying that Ankit Das was in the Fortuner that was also responsible for the massacre, has emerged. However, Ankit Das also has not been arrested yet. Samyukt Kisan Morcha demands that the ones who are clearly part of the massacre - Ashish Mishra, Sumit Jaiswal, Ankit Das and others should be immediately arrested.
