Sunanda Pushkar case: Tharoor's anticipatory bail plea will be decided tomorrow by Delhi Court.

On Wednesday (July 4th, 2018) Special Judge Arvind Kumar of Delhi, Patiala House Court reserved its order on Congress leader Shashi Tharoor anticipatory bail plea for Tomorrow (Thursday, July 5th, 2018) in Sunanda Pushkar death case.

On May 14th, 2018 Delhi Police filed a charge sheet in the death of Sunanda Pushkar against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and Delhi Court ordered him to appear before the court on Saturday (July 7th, 2018).

At the time of hearing today, the Special Investigation Team opposed Tharoor's anticipatory bail plea in Patiala House Court.

Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a Delhi's Leela luxury hotel room in the city on the night of January 17th, 2014.

Special Judge Arvind Kumar said "I have heard the prosecutor. I have gone through and perused the chargesheet and the documents filed along with it. On the basis of a police report (chargesheet), I take cognizance of the offence of abetment of suicide of late Sunanda Pushkar and committing cruelty upon her by Dr. Shashi Tharoor," and "There exist sufficient grounds to proceed against Tharoor for commission of offences of Section 306 and 498 A of IPC. Issue summons to him for appearance for July 7."

Shashi Tharoor have been charged under Section 498A (husband or his relative subjecting a woman to cruelty) and Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, but has not been arrested in the case.
