The CEO and Founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos is reportedly investing in a British start-up Beacon that aims to become a global logistics chain. In a report by Sky News it was added that taking part in Series A fundraising worth $15 million for the British start-up.
The said logistical firm Beacon is a digital freight-forwarding and supply chain finance firm. It was launched in 2018 and uses Artificial Intelligence, Cloud and other technologies to improve operational efficiency for customers organising international trade in their products.
During the Covid-19 Beacon has seen a strong demand from the companies in the e-commerce and homewares sectors, in particular.
The company boosts and specialises in offering a range of services including global ocean, air freight and truck and this can be assessed and managed on a single platform.
The firm was founded by two former Uber Executives, Fraser Robinson and Dmitri Izmailov.
The key investors in Beacon include executives from Uber, Google and Amazon. The companys chief technology officer Pierre Martin is reported to have worked at Amazon.
