Two days after Bollywood rapper Badshah was summoned by the Mumbai Crime Branch for questioning regarding the fake social media followers case, the police sources claimed that he has reportedly confessed to having paid a whopping amount of Rs. 75 lakhs for promoting his music album with fake likes and followers.

He was questioned again on Saturday (8th August ,2020) and has been summoned on Monday 10th August for other related aspects of the investigation.

On July 14th the Mumbai Police bust the sensational scam upon a Bollywood playback singer Bhumi Trivedis complaint lodged on July 11th, that some persons had created her fake Instagram profile and were approaching other celebrities with similar offers.

According to the Mumbai Police, in the investigation so far it has been found that a few Bollywood celebrities, sports personalities, and as many as 176 high profile people have allegedly paid to get followers.

Badshahs statement claimed that he has never been involved in such practices and he is cooperating with the Mumbai Police in their investigation. Badshah categorically denied all the allegations.

Mumbai Police Crime Branch is also investigating if the amount allegedly paid by Badshah to the advertising agency was about to get fake followers or for some other services. He had previously claimed that the song Pagal Hai garnered 7.5 crore views in a day, making a world record. However, Google denied the tall claim.
