Contempt Proceedings Kangana Ranaut

Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh a Mumbai based lawyer wrote letter to the Advocate General of Maharashtra Ashutosh Kumbhakoni seeking his consent to initiate contempt proceedings against Kangana Ranaut.

Kangana Ranaut termed the judiciary as Pappu Sena on her Twitter handle.

The lawyer also pointed out that the actress has been posting statements and comments on her twitter handle against the government, government agencies and the judiciary in a derogatory manner.

On October 17, 2020 The actress wrote on twitter Another FIR filed against me, Pappu sena in Maharashtra seems to be obsessing over me, dont miss me so much I will be there soon.

Another tweet by the actress read, Sanjay Raut Shiv Sena leader has given me an open threat and asked me not to come back to Mumbai, after Aazadi graffitis in Mumbai streets and now open threats, why Mumbai is feeling like Pakistan occupied Kashmir?

Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh alleged that the actress has malafide intentions and ulterior notices of creating an atmosphere of hatred in the country amongst different religious groups.

He stated that every Indian citizen has got the right to freedom of speech and not the freedom of hate speech."

The complainant lawyer also informed the Advocate General   that he had approached the Mumbai police on two occasions seeking cognizance against the malicious acts of Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel in spreading religious hatred and enmity.

The police however had refused to register FIR against them, which is why he was compelled to file criminal complaint against Kangana Ranaut in the Andheri Court.

He pointed out that a similar complaint had been filed before the Metropolitan Magistrate in Bandra and the Court had ordered the police to register a complaint against them.
