The police arrested a desperate robber who robbed an executive working with R Pharma company at Green Park, Delhi of medicine and injections used in treatment of cancer. The man was to deliver the medicine to a customer who was reported to be standing at Gol Chakkar, Seemapuri. The executive came to Dilshad Garden metro station to deliver the medicine to this unknown person 'customer' there.
Before they finally met they had a telephone conversation and the 'customer' met the executive just outside the metro station. He then told the delivery boy that he would pay him at hotel Anand Vihar through swipe machine. He sat on his bike and moved towards the said destination. No sooner did they reach the railway crossing flyover near the road number 56 than the 'customer' stopped the bike to pee when he too got off, the biker robbed him of his bag containing medicine, injections and documents. In the meanwhile, two other accomplices came there on a bike. When he resisted one of them whipped out a pistol and threatened him to hand over the bag.
The complaint was registered and a team comprising SI Pravesh, HC Deepak and HC Kuldeep was constituted. During the course of investigation, a mobile number used for the order of delivery of cancer medicine, the CDR was obtained and found that number was used in nine other mobile phones within 45 days. The SIM belonged to one person whose phone had been stolen on January 5 this year from Shahdara Railway Station. On January 31, this SIM was used on a stolen phone. This phone was sold to one Raju. He kept the SIM and made calls to pharmacy. The team put in dedicated efforts to find out the shop where the SIM was recharged.
During further investigation, all the mobile phones were found stolen from various places of Delhi and Haryana. After detailed analyses, it was found that number was used on January 30 and 31 on the VIVO phone after that one Raju from Loni was zeroed in on who provided stolen mobiles to criminals. The accused Raju was thoroughly interrogated and he confessed to having committed the crime of providing a mobile phone to a man named Parveen. The lead was developed further and Parveen was apprehended from Loni U.P and he disclosed the names of two other people who had committed the crime with him on February 16. They are still on the lam.
"After a long and sustained interrogation, Parveen broke down and confessed to the crime. He used to commit robbery and involved in cases of robbery in the past. The motorbike used in the commission of the crime was also recovered from him. The case has been registered and probe is underway." Meghna Yadav District police chief spoke.
Parveen 26, resident of Ghaziabad worked as a tractor driver. The rest two accused who are absconding will be caught soon. DCP Yadav concluded.
