National Essay Competition 2019 by Competition Commission of India [Submit by Oct 31]

Competition Commission of India (CCI) proposes to conduct the CCI National Level Essay Competition 2019 for students pursuing under-graduate and post-graduate degree courses in various Indian universities/institutes/colleges recognized by the designated authorities.

Topic: Competition issues in New Age markets- Challenges and Way Forward

Eligibility

The applicant must be a student as on 31st October, 2019 falling in any of the following two categories:

Category I would include students pursuing under-graduate course including students in first three years of an integrated post-graduation course/ students pursuing foundation & executive programmes of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

Category II would include students pursuing post-graduation (including M.Phil. & Ph.D. students) or final programme of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

Wards and relatives of employees of Competition Commission of India or office of Director General-CCI or Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GOI are NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in this competition.

Submission Procedure

The essay should not be more than 3000 words including footnotes. There is no minimum word limit. However, authors are encouraged to submit essays of not less than 1500 words.

The formatting details are given in the official notification below.

The scanned essay entry with each page signed along with the coloured scanned copy of self-attested valid student Identity Card and duly filled-in and signed entry form endorsed by the college/institution/university in pdf format have to be sent, latest by 31st October, 2019 (1730 hrs) through email only at advocacy@cci.gov.in in ENGLISH language only.

Subject of such email must be “CCI Essay Competition 2019”.

Scoring of the essay

Entries will be assessed independently by a committee taking into account:

  • Originality and clarity of the content
  • Quality of the analysis and research
  • Language and Structure of the essay

Prizes

Cash Prizes: Winners will receive cash prizes as given below:

Category I: Under-graduate Students

First (One): ₹40,000
Second (One):  ₹20,000
Third (One): ₹10,000
Consolation (Two):  ₹5,000
Total: ₹80,000

Category II:  Post-graduate Students

First (One): ₹50,000
Second (One):  ₹25,000
Third (One): ₹15,000
Consolation (Two):  ₹5,000
Total: ₹1,00,000

The prize winners shall also be given a certificate. Names of the winners will be
published on CCI’s website.
