New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University’s (JNU) School of International Studies is set to host a two-day national seminar exploring the concept of Vishwa-Mitra (Global Friendship) through the lens of ancient Indian political, strategic, and diplomatic thought. This landmark event, to be held on October 14th and 15th, 2024, marks the 70th year of academic excellence for the institution.
The seminar, organized by JNU’s Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), promises to dive deep into how ancient Indian philosophies of diplomacy and global friendship can inform contemporary political and diplomatic strategies.
Key Personalities
The seminar is under the patronage of prominent figures, including Professor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice-Chancellor of JNU, as Chief Patron, alongside Prof. Dipendra Nath Das and Prof. Brajesh Kumar Pandey, Rectors of JNU. Additionally, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Dean of the School of International Studies, will serve as the Patron and Mentor for the event. The Convener of the seminar is Dr. Ravi Rameshchandra Shukla, Chairperson of the Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory, JNU.
