550 More Cops To Be Deployed In Noida Soon To Manage Traffic

To properly manage traffic, the district police has been sanctioned an additional 550 constables for its traffic wing.

As per police, 60 new personnel have already joined the duty. However, it would take some time before the entire strength of 550 constables becomes available as it would depend on the respective districts from where cops are to be released by their head.

SP (traffic) S.N. Singh said with the additional force, all the major crossings of the districts would be covered.

It will help us in improving the vehicular movement in the district. At present, many spots remain unattended due to lesser number of cops available for the traffic wing. Our focus will be on curbing wrong side driving and speeding. Apart from this, we will give more focus to Loni and at other border areas where less number of challans are issued, the SP said.

The traffic polices list of accident-prone areas has over 15 black spots which are on national highways NH-24, NH-91 and NH-58 that pass through Ghaziabad city.

Currently, the strength of the traffic wing is 300, including 150 constables and 115 head constables. Around 130 home guards are also maintaining the vehicular movement in the city.
