[COVID-19]: UAE Arrests 64 People For Breaking Home Quarantine Law

On 25th March, 2020 in Dubai, 64 people failed to stay under the home quarantine protocol. These people have been arrested in the UAE, the Ministry of Interior said. The people arrested were instantly referred to the Crisis Emergencies Prosecution Department at the Federal Prosecution for Punishment. 

They have been said to violate the Federal Law No. 14 of 2014 on the Control Of Communicable Diseases

It is stated that anyone who violates this law will be subject to imprisonment or a fine up to Dh10,000. 

The Ministry issued a statement stating the 64 people to have not followed any sort of safety procedures and further disobeyed the orders from health authorities for administering a protocol of staying under home quarantine for a period of two weeks.
