Due to the cancellation of the election of Abdullah Azam, the son of SP MP Azam Khan, Allahabad High Court has given instructions to hold the election of SwarVidhan Sabha seat of Rampur.
The bench of Justices Shashikant Gupta and Pankaj Bhatia handed the order on a petition which was filed by the former Chairman of Nagar Palika Parishad Swar, Shafiq Ahmed.
As per the petitioner Advocate Vikrant Pandey, on 16 December 2019, the election for the seat of SwarVidhan Sabha was canceled by the Allahabad High Courtroom. Due to the result of the elected MLA, Abdullah Khan contested the idea of wrong birth certificates.
The government has been directed by the Allahabad High Court to issue notification on re-election. As for now, currently, the by-polls are being held on vacant seats with Uttar Pradesh but till now, no notification has been issued for 4 assembly seats.
