Ayodhya Verdict: Curative Petition Filed In SC By PFI

The Popular Front of India (PFI) has filed a curative petition in the Apex court on March 06, 2020.

The petition challenges the Apex's court decision declared on November 09, 2019 in the case of M Siddiq (D) Thr Lrs v. Mahant Suresh Das & Ors.

The five-judge bench had ordered the entire disputed land of area 2.77 acres to be allocated for the construction of a temple while an alternative piece of land of area of 5 acres to be allocated to the Sunni Waqf Board for the construction of a mosque at a suitable place within Ayodhya.

Through this, it is said that the apex court resolved the decades-old conflict over the Ram Janmabhoomi - Babari Masjid land dispute.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court on December 13, 2020 rejected multiple review petitions against the judgment pertaining to this matter.

The Court in 2019 ruled that the Muslim parties including the Sunni Waqf Board had failed to establish an exclusive possession of disputed land. The Hindu parties managed to furnish better evidence in order to prove that Hindus had worshiped continuously inside the mosque wherein they believed that it was the original birthplace of Hindu deity Rama.
