Gujarat High Court to Review Controversial Haryanvi Song 'Court Me Goli' Amid Judiciary Disrespect Allegations

The Gujarat High Court has taken the unusual step of reviewing a Haryanvi song titled "Court Me Goli" following allegations that it shows disrespect towards the judiciary. This action follows a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) expressing concerns about the song's lyrics, as reported by the Bar and Bench portal.

The controversial song was posted on YouTube in December 2022. The petitioner's legal representative argued that the song attempts to depict criminals as being superior to the Indian judiciary.

In response to questions regarding the song's lyrics, the lawyer specifically highlighted a line in the song where a criminal threatens to open fire in a crowded courtroom. Consequently, the judges requested to hear the exact line in question.
