HC Bar Assn condemns conduct of lawyer; demands stern action [Read Resolution]

NEW DELHI: Delhi High Court Bar Association has passed a resolution condemning the behaviour of an advocate as he allegedly created nuisance and acted in disrespectful manner inside courtroom.

It also demanded a stern action against him.

"Noting with grave concern the recent incident in the courtroom at the Delhi High Court wherein a lawyer apparently misbehaved and created nuisance and disruption of court proceedings, the Executive Committee strongly condemns such behavior and resolved as follows in an emergent meeting of the DHCBA on 15th December, 2022 at 10:30 AM," the resolution said.

"The Delhi High Court Bar Association strongly condemns the behaviour of the said lawyer informed to be one Shakti Chand Rana, D/1136/2015 and reiterates that such conduct is unacceptable and against the dignity of this Bar," it added.

The resolution further stated that said lawyer should be dealt with a heavy hand and stern action be taken against him, "which should be a reminder to all to never belittle the majesity of law or act in an indiscipline or disrespect manner".
