VARANASI: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has submitted a sealed report on the Kashi Vishwanath - Gyanvapi case in the Varanasi District Court on Monday. The court is expected to go through the 1500-page report on December 21.
Advocate Madan Mohan Yadav, who is representing the Hindu petitioners in the matter, said, "The report in sealed cover was placed before the court by the ASI's standing counsel Amit Srivastava."
The report was submitted as a sealed document. According to media reports, it is unclear if this will be made public, or shared with either the Hindu side or the petitioners. The next date of hearing has been fixed for Thursday.
Notably, the survey of the mosque premises, excluding a section sealed by the Supreme Court, was ordered by the Varanasi court to check if the late-17th-century mosque was built over a Hindu temple.
