Supreme Court Tamil Nadu MLA Velumani AIADMK minister

SupremeCourt hearing a plea filed by the Tamil Nadu MLA S.P. Velumani and former AIADMK minister.

CJI: This is nothing, but "regime revenge!" The Govt agencies must be fair in their investigations, the persons in power might go and come.

Rohatgi appearing for the petitioner: Milords, government dont change, only parties change. This was a PIL in which the report was filed.

CJI: The high court (Madras High Court) is not right here. If order an inquiry tomorrow, I can say report to be submitted in sealed cover and then, can I send it to the government? How can the Chief Justice do this?

CJI: This is what happens when they try to settle political scores through the PILs. That's what I said earlier.
