[COVID-19]: Telangana HC And District Courts To Remain Closed Till April 30; Summer Vacation 2020 Cancelled [Read Press Release]

Telangana HC And DC To Remain Closed Summer Vacation Cancelled

A full court meeting of the Honble Judges was held on April 07, 2020 through video conferencing which was also joined by learned Advocate General, Chairman Bar Council, President, High Court Advocates Association. The meeting was about the reopening of courts after the end of lockdown on 14April 2020.

After hearing the condition COVID-19 by Dr. K.Shankar, Director, Institute of Preventive Medicine, Hyderabad the court has reached to the decision to continue the present arrangement and extend the lockdown till April 30, 2020. The decision was reached after taking into consideration the fact that the reopening of all the court rooms will lead to the congregation of people.

Like the present arrangement, High Court will hear only extreme urgent matters related to Bail applications, stay applications fresh admissions such as PILs. District Courts will also hear only extreme urgent matters related to criminal and civil matters such as bail applications, remand, extension of remand, interim injunctions etc.

The judges have also decided to cancel the summer vacation for both High Court and Subordinate courts. So the courts will remain open throughout May 2020 till June 5, 2020. 

The registrar general said that As judicial employees have come forward to donate one-days salary towards Chief Justice Relief fund, the same will be deduced from their April salaries and forwarded to CM Relief Fund,
