The Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud on Thursday expressed concern on the recent trend of members of the Bar choosing judges who should or should not hear their cases. The CJI said in this regard, "it is extremely surprising that any Bar member should be saying I want a particular judge to hear my matter and that this particular judge shouldnt hear my matter.
The Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Thursday declined to intervene into listing of bail plea by former Delhi Minister and senior AAP leader Satyendar Jain, saying that he will not control what the judge is doing in a particular matter listed before her, as the judge who has the case will decide.
Supreme Court held that a wife pursuing her career cannot be termed cruel or accused of desertion, calling such views patriarchal and regressive.
