Justice U.U. Lalit Reiterates the Importance of Lok Adalat to Shed the Unwanted Burden on Courts with Respect To Cases That Can Be Easily Disposed Of

JUSTICE U.U. LALIT REITERATES THE IMPORTANCE OF LOK ADALAT TO SHED THE UNWANTED BURDEN ON COURTS WITH RESOECT TO CASES THAT CAN BE EASILY DISPOSED OF

Justice U.U. Lalit, during a National-level webinar on National Lok Adalat: Challenges and way forward, organized by the National Legal Service Authority on June 26th, 2021, observed the importance of the Lok Adalat and stressed on the tremendous amount of burden on Courts caused due to the Covid Pandemic on the Supreme Court.

Justice U.U. Lalit, the Executive Chairman of National Legal Service Authority observing the downside of COVID-19 Pandemic on the functioning of the Court, adding to the pendency of the cases, while addressing the Judges and Judicial Officers involved in Legal Aid Services Administration reiterated the need of a speedy and effective dispensation of justice.

During the course of the webinar organized with the aim to sensitize all the District Legal Service Authorities in order to ensure the smooth and proper functioning of the National Lok Adalat, Justice U.U. Lalit addressed the importance of Lok Adalats to shed such unwanted burden on Courts with respect to cases that can be easily disposed of. 

Calling for the need to maximize the efforts on having pre-Lok Adalat sittings, he apprised that Legal Service Authorities should try to have Lok-Adalat sittings with all stakeholders to ensure smooth functioning of the National Lok Adalat proceedings.
