SC Unit of AICC Releases Statement Of Resolution Condemning CAA And Asking For Rahul Gandhis Return As President [Read Resolution]

By Lawstreet Bharat      18 December, 2019 02:12 PM      0 Comments

The Supreme Court Unit of the All India Congress Committee Legal, Human Rights and RTI Department had released a statement of Resolutions yesterday (December 17, 2019) stating that they strongly condemn the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 as unconstitutional being not only violative of Article 14 and 21 of the Constitution but also against the basic tenets of secularism enshrined in our Constitution.

The statement further said that, The Act is also contrary to various International Conventions to which India is a signatory. It is sectarian and constitutionally immoral apart from being divisive and anti-pluralistic, in fact, a blatant and well-designed effort to destroy the secular fabric of our beloved country.  Our cultural ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is a family) lies shattered.

The house further resolved to voice its strong opinion that Rahul Gandhi be brought back as the President of INC.
