Pakistan's Prime Minister's Office posted a cropped version of the SCO leaders' group photograph from Bishkek on September 1, removing PM Modi, Iranian President Pezeshkian and three other leaders to position Shehbaz Sharif at the centre. India's PMO posted the full uncropped image. Sharif later reversed course and shared the complete photograph on his personal account.

The 26th SCO Summit concluded in Bishkek on September 1 with all ten member-state heads, including Modi, Xi and Putin, signing the Bishkek Declaration. Modi called for dismantling the "entire ecosystem of terrorism" with no double standards. Pakistan assumed the SCO rotating chairmanship and will host the 2027 summit. Kyrgyzstan also hosted the 6th World Nomad Games.
President Trump on August 28 announced a deal with Venezuela's interim President Delcy Rodríguez giving the US 55% effective control of a new joint venture holding 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves on a 100-year lease.
