Pro-Khalistani protesters in Canada thank Trudeau for standing with Khalistan, hit PM Modis cutout with shoe

By Lawstreet Bharat      26 September, 2023 07:55 PM      0 Comments

A group of Khalistan supporters held a protest outside the Indian High Commission in Canada on Monday and thanked Canadian PM Justin Trudeau for standing with Khalistan.

The demonstrators even went to the extent of burning the Indian flag and hitting a cardboard figure of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with shoes.

Protesters were seen waving flags that read "Khalistan", which signifies their support for a separate state for Sikhs in India.

The relations between Canada and India have become increasingly tense over the murder of a Canadian Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

But what is behind the fearlessness of these people, that they are openly supporting a designated terrorist? Is it the love of PM Justin Trudeau for Khalistan or is it just a political game to woo voters?
