A video showing part of the roof collapse at Noida's DLF Mall of India made the rounds on social media and is widely shared on the internet.

A portion of the roof of Noida 's iconic mall can be seen crumbling down in the video which has gone viral on social media.

Some social media users even claimed that after the roof collapse incident, the mall would remain shut for an indefinite period, or at least six months.

The mall authorities, however, have reportedly clarified that the video is a refurbishment drive and more than a month old after the residents shared the footage on social media, wondering if a mishap had happened.

DLF Mall of India in Noida, one of India's largest such commercial complexes, is currently being closed as a precautionary measure to help prevent the coronavirus outbreak from spreading. After the government eased lockdown restrictions, the mall reopened in mid-June, yet it closed again after a week.

There have been several tweets as well doing rounds on social media warning many other structures roof stability and strength being questioned

Moreover, this raises concern as this particular incident was a lesser harm due to the non-functioning of the place. However, had this public place been even remotely functioning, hundreds of people would be subjected to this mishap and panic
