Narco terrorism is very dangerous and harmful for the country IRS officer Sameer Wankhede

IRS officer Sameer Wankhede was recently accorded a hero's welcome, when he arrived in the slum area of Goregaon to participate in a programme organised to create a drug free society.

As soon as he arrived at the venue, everyone from children to the elderly felt that their hero and son had arrived.

In his talk, Wankhede said that the main problem of the country is terrorism and drugs.

"When both of these are combined then it is called narco terrorism. Narco terrorism is very dangerous and harmful for the country," he said.

Wankhede was speaking at a seminar organised by Sai Leela Foundation on the topic of drug-free in Ashok Nagar, Goregaon East. Wankhede shared his experiences and gave direct answers to various questions.

RTI Activist Anil Galgali said that the society needs to stand with such officials. The concept of a drug-free society will be successful only through public awareness. RPI leader Chandrashekhar Kamble assured to take initiative for such events at other places like Goregaon. Organizers Rashmi Upadhyay and Shraddha Kadam welcomed everyone.

Wankhede, former Mumbai zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau, has earned his name for relentless drive against the drug menace. He took on the high and the mighty, including against actor Shahrukh Khan's son in his stint.
