Death of Additional District Judge and his son due to alleged food poisoning under investigation

Death food poisoning investigation

A judge named Mahendra Tripathi and his son named Abhiyanraj Tripathi died due to suspected food poisoning at a Nagpur hospital on Saturday (July 25, 2020) night. They additional district judge was posted at Betul District Court.

Police suspects that the death is due to food poisoning but are looking into another angle as it could be a criminal conspiracy. A Police Superintendent has said that they have initiated the probe in this matter. 

The Additional Superintendent of police stated in the statement, When the condition of the judge & his elder son deteriorated further, they were referred to a private hospital in Nagpur on Saturday evening. Abhiyanraj was declared brought dead at the hospital.

From the investigation, it is clear that ADJ and his two sons had chapattis, and also both the sons consumed some snacks given by a close relative. Soon after this all of them complained of uneasiness and diarrhea and were admitted to a private hospital in Betul. The younger son was relieved from the hospital and the other two were shifted to Nagpur hospital as their condition deteriorated and unfortunately the elder son died during the shifting process. 

The food samples have been collected and have been sent to the laboratory for examination. Police are waiting for the postmortem report in Nagpur. Police are also in search of the woman who had given snacks to the deceased and the Judge.
