The Delhi Police filed a chargesheet before a magistrate in Tis Hazari on May 17th, 2021 in connection with the case of violence at the Red Fort on Republic Day. The chargesheet claimed that the violence that broke out on Republic Day was a part of a well-planned conspiracy and the occasion of Republic Day was carefully picked out with the intention to tarnish the image of the Central government at home and abroad.

The chargesheet mentioned that the protesters had a pre-conceived and well- coordinated plan to break the agreement between the police and the farmer leader about the pre decided routes for the tractor rally on Republic Day.

The chargesheet has been filed against 16 people including the actor-turned-activist Deep Sindhu. According to the sources, the data of increase in the number of purchases of tractors and trolleys in Haryana and Punjab has been submitted with the chargesheet.

The tracker rally was conducted as a part of the Farmers protest at different borders of the national capital territory against the newly enacted farms laws since November ,2020.

The court had listed the matter for May 28, 2021, for further hearing on the isuue.
