Dreaded Gangster With Rs 50K Bounty Caught

The sleuths of Delhi Police's Crime Branch arrested a dreaded criminal wanted in more than 10 cases of murder, attempt to murder, rape, contract killing and carjacking. The police recovered one country made pistol and 2 live cartridges from the criminal identified as Vijay Farmana he carried a bounty of Rupees 50,000 on his head. Vijay, a resident of Sonipat, Haryana had three triple murder to his biodata.

It was learnt that for some years, premium cars and SUVs near the malls of Saket, Vasant Vihar, NH-8 and airport were being robbed at gun point. Viewing the gravity of the matter, Crime Branch swung into action with a team comprising SI Rajesh Malik, SI Sandeep and other team members led by inspector Gagan Bhaskar under the close supervision of ACP Shweta Singh Chauhan and thoroughly headed by DCP Crime (Stars and STF) Dr Ram Gopal Naik.

The team worked day in day out tracking the leads and technical surveillance was mounted which helped the cops know the movement of the accused in UP's Lucknow. The team reached a mall in Gomti Nagar and saw Farmana sitting with his girlfriend.d Sensing danger he tried to flee the scene but inspector Bhaskar and SI Rajeev overpowered him after a brief scuffle. The accused whipped out his pistol and threatened the cops to stay away but to no avail.

He has been arrested in case FIR No. 241/18, under Sections 365, 394 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, Police Station Vasant Kunj North.

"He confessed to having committed the crime when 'questioned'. They would sell the robbed and stolen cars in Nepal and North Eastern towns of India. More arrests are likely in this connection," Rajiv Ranjan Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) said.

Farmana further disclosed that in April 2019 he alongwith his associate Sharad Pandey and Kapil Chitania went to Nagaland and took a contract to kill a political leader whom they had to kill after elections and Sharad had already taken the contract to kill for Rs 80 Lakhs and a Ford Endeavor car.

Wanted in three sensational triple murders

(A) In March 2016, Vijay Farmana with his associates Sumit Chitania, Deepak, Anil and Amit had kidnapped three boys Rahul, Jajji, and Ashish from MIT Rohtak and murdered them and thrown their dead bodies in Gang Nahar. FIR No.0055/17, u/s 365/302/201 IPC PS, Sonipat Sadar, Haryana.

(B)  In 2016 Farmana with his associates Ramesh Pehalwan, Captain Amit Lamba, Naresh Bandri, Shila Kancha Danney and Hansraj committed triple murder in which they killed Rajesh, Gulab and Naresh. FIR No. 1323/16, u/s 302/307/148/149/341/506 r/w 120B IPC and sections 25/54/59 Arms Act PS City Karnal.

(C) In February 2017,  Farmana with his associates Sumit Chitania, Sharad Pandey, Shila Panchi, Ajeet Fauji, Sunil, Mohit and Ramkaran committed triple murder in Gohana Haryana where they murdered Sandeep, Balbir and Surender and thrown the dead bodies in Gang Nahar. FIR No.0044/17, u/s 365/302/201 IPC PS Gohana City, Haryana.
