Miscreants scribble Ram on goat headed for Bakri Eid sacrifice Gau Gyan Foundation demands action

MUMBAI: In what has been alleged to be a deliberate act to outrage and hurt Hindus' sentiments, miscreants in Mumbai scribbled 'Ram' on a goat headed for sacrifice on the occasion of Bakri Eid at "Good Luck Mutton Store" in CBD Belapur PS, Maharashtra.

Delhi-based animal welfare organization Gau Gyan Foundation posting the information on 'X' (formerly Twitter) has sought police action. It has demanded the immediate registration of an FIR and arrest of those involved.

Update on the case:

With Hindus worshipping Shri Ram as an avatar of Shri Vishnu, Gau Gyan stated that the act is intended to deliberately outrage and hurt Hindu sentiments and likely to incite violence.

It wrote on X, "Deliberately outraging and hurting Hindus' sentiments, with the intent to incite communal violence, miscreants write 'RAM' on goat headed for sacrifice on Bakri Eid at "Good Luck Mutton Store" in CBD Belapur PS.

Requesting Navimum police to register an FIR against those involved, and immediately take the concerned persons in custody. Also requesting for rescue of the goat as no slaughter can take place outside licensed slaughterhouses as per law. We request immediate seizure of all goats owned by the "Good Luck Mutton Store" and closure of the associated slaughterhouse immediately."
