Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday (October 9, 2021) nabbed nine persons including a couple involved in stealing a car of a District and Sessions Judge from a court in Chhattisgarhs Bilaspur city, police said.

They were also allegedly involved in several thefts of motorcycles.

Bilaspur Additional Superintendent of Police Umesh Kashyap said the couple were the judges maid Pooja Sahu (20) and her husband Kamal (21).

The others were Rahul Diwakar (18), Dharmendra Divya (18), Shubham Suryavanshi (21), Vinod Sahu (54), Deepak Sahu (21), Jitendra Sahu (20) and Vikas Soni (25).

A complaint regarding the theft of the car of judge Shweta Shrivastava was lodged with the police on October 5.

The police recovered the car through the chassis number at a deserted spot near Geeta Palace here.

The maid's husband confessed to his involvement in the crime and named his wife, who said she was angry because the judge scolded her.

She said she had also stolen some gold ornaments and sold it to Soni.
