Police Bust Gang Of Robbers, 3 Caught With 'Katta'

The Delhi south-east district police have caught 3 robbers and recovered from their possession one country made pistol with two live cartridges, one stolen scooty, one robbed laptop and one snatched mobile phone.

The police claim to have solved 8 cases under different other police stations. Those arrested have been identified as Gulshan 21, Satish Kashyap 19 and Deepak 20.

On a complaint lodged by an advocate who was returning to Sant Nagar, when he reached near Astha Kunj Park, 4-5 persons surrounded him and robbed him at gun point of his laptop, mobile phone, wallet containing rupees 2000.

A case vide FIR No.166/19, under Sections 392 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, & Section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959, was registered at PS Amar Colony.

A team comprising SI R.S. Dagar, SI Rakesh Kumar, ASI Rajbir Singh and others led by SHO Amar Colony Inspector Anant Kumar Gunjan under the supervision of Govind Sharma, ACP/Kalkaji was constituted.

The team gathered information about criminals indulged in cases of robbery and snatching in the area. SI R.S. Dagar I/C PP S.N Puri got secret information regarding two notorious criminals, robbers who were also involved in cases of robbery and snatching in the area of South East District. Acting on a tip-off, the police team headed by SI Dagar laid a trap on the road near Karpuri Thakur Camp, Sri Niwas Puri and apprehended two persons Gulshan and Satish with one stolen Scooty bearing No. DL 3S DL 1490 and accused Gulshan was carrying a loaded country made pistol and two live cartridges in his possession. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 172/19, under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act, 1959, was registered at PS Amar Colony.

"When interrogated, Gulshan and Satish confessed to the crime and disclosed that they have committed snatchings, thefts and robberies in the adjoining areas of PS Amar Colony. They are school drop-outs and drug-addicted. They committed crimes to feed their addictions of drugs," DCP Chinmoy Biswal said.

One more case vide FIR No. 166/19, under Sections 392/34 IPC was registered at PS Amar Colony.
