Police Nab Hardened Criminals With Hitmen

A team of Special Cell/NDR, Lodhi Colony led by Inspectors Kailash Singh Bisht and Pramod Chauhan under the supervision of ACPs Lalit Mohan Negi and Hirdaya Bhushan has busted a gang of desperate criminals and arrested contract killers with the kingpin Deepak Tomar 30 years of Baghpat western Uttar Pradesh with his three associates and also recovered illegal firearms and ammunition.

A criminal wanted in case FIR number 495/18, u/s 302/201 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, r/w Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act, 1959, PS Alipur Deepak Tomar was being tracked down by the cops. Tomar was convicted in another murder case of Rohtak, Haryana and was also involved in several other cases of murder and robbery in Delhi/NCR. The Cell was hard at chasing him. On many occasions, he was close to being cornered but managed to give the slip. Developing a lead that Deepak Tomar with three of his aides was going to commit another gruesome murder. They were caught before they could commission the bloody assignment. A case has been registered under relevant sections by the Cell and further probe is underway.

Deepak Tomar has been involved in various sensational murders committed in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana. In 2008, he with his associates committed a sensational murder at Civil Lines in Rohtak. In this case, one Richhpal, a Sarpanch of Sangi Village was the real target but following a mix-up, one Ramesh of Charkhi Dadari was killed instead. In this case, Deepak Tomar with some associates was slapped life imprisonment. In 2010, while still in judicial custody in Rohtak jail, Deepak conspired with another inmate and executed the murder of one Dhajja Ram, who had fallen out with the infamous Anil Leela gang. In July 2014, Deepak managed to get 21 days for parole/furlough from Bhondsi jail in Gurugram. He jumped his parole and remained active with his activities.

In 2015, he with his associate Saurabh committed a sensational double murder of Dharmender and Sachin of Soop Village, in Baghpat District, UP. They together fired 21 rounds to execute the double murder, which was the result of their ongoing enmity with Ranbir gang operating out of their village. A case FIR No.97/15, u/s. 302/120-B IPC, PS Ramala, Baghpat, UP was registered in this regard.

In May 2015, Deepak with his men robbed an SUV Scorpio vehicle from the area of Nihal Vihar, Delhi. A case vide FIR No. 433/15, u/s. 392/34 IPC, PS Nihar Vihar, was registered in this regard.

In September 2015, Deepak with his gangmen committed the sensational murder of Sohanveer, a resident of Jhajjar, Haryana in Haridas Nagar, Delhi. The murder was the result of his personal enmity as Sohanveer had beaten him when they were lodged in Rohtak jail. A case FIR No. 538/15, u/s. 302/201 IPC was registered at Baba Haridas Nagar Police Station in this regard. Deepak was subsequently arrested in July 2016 and remained in custody till July 2018, before being released on bail.

After his release, Deepak started planning to eliminate a rival contract killer Deepak Pandit who reportedly had taken a contract to eliminate Deepak Tomar. In this endeavour, he tied up with one Pradeep of Jhajjar, Haryana and Pintu alias Sumit of Rohtak, Haryana.

The deal was that Deepak would eliminate one Suman who was a sworn enemy of Pintu and in return, they would bump off Deepak Pandit.  Pradeep and Pintu on 21/12/2018, along with Deepak Tomar and others, called Deepak Pandit on a pretext and after thrashing and torturing him, shot him five times till he died. Later, they threw the dead body in Singhu drain after pouring acid on his face and body. On 30/12/2018, the dead body was recovered by the local police from Singhu drain. In this case, Deepak Tomar was declared a PO (Proclaimed Offender) with others.

During further interrogation, Deepak disclosed that presently, he was on the lookout for eliminating one Jitender, a native of his Village, due to an ongoing enmity and he and his gang members gathered to execute this plan when they were apprehended.

Harish alias Sanda 28 years of Jhajhar, Haryana has been previously involved in four cases of murder and robbery. In 2012, he with his associates committed a murder in his village and remained in jail for two years. Thereafter, in June 2018, he with his associates robbed a bullion trader of about half a kilogram of gold and 1.5 Kg silver at gun point. During these forays into the world of crime, he came in contact with Deepak Tomar and on 21/12/2018, he was an active participant in the murder of Deepak Pandit. Later, he was also declared a PO in this case.

Umed Sharma alias Tinda 26 years of Rohtak, Haryana has been previously involved in two cases of murder in Delhi and Haryana. In 2017, one Kaptan Singh molested his friends sister.  Umed with his men murdered Kaptan and had thrown his dead body near Dichau Village of Delhi thus settling the score. A case vide FIR No. 200/17, u/s. 302 IPC, PS Meham was registered in this regard. Umed had long been wanted in this case. In 2015, he came in the contact of Deepak Tomar and joined his gang. In September 2015, Umed with Deepak Tomar and two other associates committed the murder of Sohanveer of Jhajjar, Haryana in the area of Haridas Nagar in Delhi. The murder was the result of personal enmity as Sohanveer had beaten Deepak Tomar in Rohtak jail.

Neeraj Luhach alias Neera 29 years of Rohtak, Haryana has been previously involved in one case of murder and one of Arms Act in Haryana. In 2017, he was involved in the murder of Kaptan Singh with Umed and others and was yet to be arrested in this case. In 2019, he was arrested in a case under the Arms Act, 1959, in PS Meham, Haryana. He remained in jail for a month and after being released, came in the contact with Deepak Tomar and joined his gang.

The police have recovered three illegal pistols and twelve live cartridges from the possession of the arrested criminals.
