Prize Catch By SE District, Dreaded Criminal Of Munir Gang With Wife Partner In Crime Caught

The police in the district of south-east Delhi are tightening their noose and the big fish are falling in the police dragnet.

A husband-wife duo of an interstate gang was arrested by the district police. They were believed to have been operating in the area for quite some time. They are found involved in scores of cases of heinous crimes including murder. One of his associates even opened fire on the police team at Aligarh.

Zubair alias Tukda alias Dev Raj 23 years, the kingpin of the gang carried a bounty of rupees 20000 on his head declared by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

The police recovered from their possession 2 country made pistols, cartridges, gold chain and one mobike.

The arrest of Zubair led to solving 13 cases. His wife Huda 21 years was partner in crime without prejudice. They both are the residents of Aligarh. Zubair's associate, Adnan alias Golden 20 who opened fire on the police in Aligarh was apprehended soon after. The police recovered a country made pistol, 4 live cartridges, gold chain and cash.

Lately, a heist in broad day light in New Friends Colony, where a lady was robbed of cash at gun point. On the basis of the statement of the complainant a case vide FIR No-54/19 under Section 392, 34 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, was registered at PS NFC.

Reading the matter on a serious note, a team comprising SI Vishnu Dutt, ASI Shailesh and ASI Neeraj with others led by SHO inspector Rajesh Kumar Mishra under the supervision of Jagdish Yadav ACP sub-division NFC was constituted.

"The police had a tough time tracking the case as the bike used in the commission of the crime did not have the registration number that could help them. The police used human intelligence and electronic surveillance to chase the accused on the lam. The CCTV footage was closely examined that showed the lady Huda and her companion. They did not have an account with the bank. The police zeroed in on these two shown suspiciously in the reel.

The police team on this basis tried to establish the identity of the suspects.

Furthermore, her associate in the bank was also identified juvenile (CCL), who was also wanted in several cases. The police team gathered information that Zubair was hiding in a flat at Zakir Nagar, Jamia Nagar. The police team swung into action and raided the flat and successfully apprehended Zubair. At his instance, his wife Huda was arrested from Chattarpur," DCP Chinmoy Biswal spoke.

The police after a brief encounter caught Adnan from Aligarh and recovered one desi katta and three live cartridges. Accordingly, 2 separate cases vide FIR No-192/19 under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, & FIR No-193/19 under Section 25 of the Arms Act 1959, were registered at PS Civil Line, Aligarh.

On sustained interrogation, Zubair confessed and disclosed that in the early age, he entered the world of crime and in 2015 in order to take revenge following an old rivalry, he along with another desperate criminal Munir shot dead one Waseem near Al Bake Restaurant at Shaheen Bagh. A case vide FIR no. 462/15, dated 04/04/19, under Sections 307, 302 and 34 of the India Penal Code, 1860, PS Jamia Nagar was registered.

Zubair was an active member of the Munir Gang and was wanted in several cases in Western UP. In 2016, Munir was involved in the murder case of DSP/NIA Tanzeel Ahmed. After the arrest of Munir, Zubair took charge of the gang. Zubair was also wanted in a murder case of one Sabez at Civil Lines, Aligarh.

"Further probe into the case is underway and more arrests are likely soon," Biswal concluded.
