PS Hazrat Nizamuddin, SE District Cops overpower criminals after brief shootout

Cracking down on criminals in the area, the police are chasing hard to gather information about their movements and hideouts. The district police chief Chinmoy Biswal ordered to form crack teams for the task. The staff  of PS Hazrat Nizamuddin began to track criminals.

A blackgrey Bajaj Dominor motorcycle was sighted having three suspects riding on it.

The picket staff on Lala Lajpat Rai Marg tried to stop them by closing barricades. Seeing the police, one of them got off and started running. The other two also tried to escape but were chased by the police team and caught at Lodhi road flyover.

The third suspect who began to flee the scene on foot was chased by the police staff. However, he fired three rounds from a pistol he was carrying. The police party which was chasing the suspect also fired two rounds(one in the air and then one below the waist). Finally, after a brief chase, the suspect was nailed down in Basti Nizamuddin. One round fired by the police party had hit his right leg. He was immediately rushed to Trauma centre, AIIMS for treatment.

The suspect was identified as  Faizan 22 years. He is involved in 13 cases of snatching and robbery and arms act cases.

In the meantime, the other two suspects, who had been caught with their Bajaj Dominic motorcycle by the police team at picket were identified as

Salmaan 22 years and Shuaib 21 years.

Salmaan is involved in 15 cases of robbery, snatching and arms act. Shuaib is involved in  one case of snatching.

One stolen motor cycle Bajaj Dominor is also recovered from their possession. Three fire arms have been recovered from their possession including the pistol from which suspect Faizan alias Ikram fired upon the police party.

A case u/s 186/353/307/34 IPC and 25/27/54/59 Arms act is being registered at PS HN Din.
