GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Police have taken into custody YouTuber Shikha Metray, also known online as Kuwari Begum, following a complaint by men's rights activist Deepika Bhardwaj for promoting content on sexually abusing infants.
The police launched an investigation following an FIR lodged on June 12 which flagged Metrays explicit content on X (formerly Twitter) which allegedly promotes sexual abuse of infants and children, amongst others.
Bhardwaj's complaint against Kunwari Begum specifically highlighted a video titled "She will say no. Let her" published on Metrays YouTube channel.
Bhardwaj complained that the video promotes questionable sexual behaviour by implying that men should ignore women's consent.
She also said that the Metray's content encouraged sexually aggressive behaviour towards both women and children, and also misguides young boys.
Metray's viral videos which were in any case facing backlash on social media caught Bhardwaj's attention.
Bhardwaj then posted these clips from Metray's channel to her X (formerly Twitter) account and urged the authorities to remove the content and take action against the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi (NIFT) graduate.
After facing massive criticism, Metray appears to have deleted or deactivated her social media accounts. Police investigation into the matter is ongoing.
