NEW DELHI: The UGC has asked higher education institutions in the country to celebrate "Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas (CJD) on first Wednesday of every month in an elaborate manner for propagating cyber hygiene as mass awareness campaign, by involving dignitaries in various factions across all the States and Union Territories.

It also asked the institutions to appoint Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at their institutions to follow the 'point of action' for the preparation and implementation of Cyber Crisis Management Plan (CCMP) for countering cyber-attack and cyber terrorism and also submit the report.

The action taken note along with annual action plan for celebrating 'Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas' for the Year 2022-2023, along with activities undertaken on October 6, 2022 for celebrating Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas (CJD) may also be uploaded on the University Activity Monitoring Portal (UAMP) of UGC at https://uamp.ugc.ac.in latest by 12th October, 2022, it added.

The budgetary provision to carry out the CJD may be met from the respective budget of the institutions. This initiative may be supplemented by mass awareness programme through multiple media like television, community radio, radio jingles, SMS etc, the regulatory body said.
