Delhi Government allows Reopening of Gyms and Yoga Centers Which Are situated Outside the Contaminated Zones

Delhi Government allows Reopening of Gyms and Yoga Centers Which Are situated Outside the Contaminated Zones

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority has issued an order late night on Sunday i.e. September 14, 2020, that gyms and Yoga centers can now reopen in the city except in the contaminated zone with immediate effect. The gym and yoga centers in the national capital were closed for almost 5 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The order also contains the circular stating that the weekly market is also been allowed till September 30 on a trial basis under "Unlock 4".

The Aam Aadmi Party regulations and the Lieutenant Government office have as of late been at loggerheads over the reopening of gyms and yoga centers in the national capital. A month ago, the Delhi government has sent a proposition to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal in such manner, but it was not accepted.

The decision about the opening of the gyms and yoga centers came when there has been a surge in the number of coronavirus cases. The national capital on September 13, 2020, recorded over 4,000 coronavirus cases which are the fifth day in a row to have such a big no of cases. On September 12, 2020, this city recorded its highest single day jump off fresh COVID cases i.e. 4,321.

This is a challenging situation for the government with regards to coping up with the increasing number of cases. Therefore, it would be a task for the Delhi Government by allowing gyms and yoga centers in the national capital as it could lead to more coronavirus cases in the city.
