SC Informed: Delhi Withdraws Plea, Set to Execute PM-ABHIM Scheme
The counsel submitted that the government is going ahead with the implementation of the PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) scheme in the national capital.
The bench allowed the Delhi government's counsel to withdraw the petition.
The High Court had asked the Delhi government to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Union Health Ministry by January 5 to implement the PM-ABHIM scheme.
On January 17, 2025, the Supreme Court had stayed the High Court's order directing for the Delhi government to sign an MoU with the central government to implement the scheme.
The High Court had noted that non-implementation of the scheme, already implemented by 33 states and UTs would not be justified.
Seven Delhi BJP MPs filed a plea in the court seeking a direction for implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the national capital.
