Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain Tests Positive

With Coronavirus cases in the Capital City crossing 44,000 in 3 months, Delhi’s Health Minister Satyendar Jain has also been tested positive of the deadly disease.

Satyendar Jain, when tested first was declared negative of the Coronavirus. It was on the second instance on Wednesday (June 17, 2020) when the Health Minister of Delhi was tested again and found to be positive.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was also tested for COVID-19 but was confirmed to be negative and free of the virus. However, he is in home quarantine for some more days and is currently working and operating from his residence, as recommended by the doctors.

Delhi, like most parts of the country was under lockdown since March 23, 202. But since the lockdown has been eased, the cases have begun to rise.

To this effect, Arvind Kejriwal had previously given a statement declaring that no patient from outside Delhi will be treated in Delhi as the cases were on a rise already and that they had limited infrastructure to combat the disease.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal however denied Kejriwal’s stand stating that everyone will be allowed treatment in the capital as several well-known hospitals are in Delhi.

The condition of the said hospitals within the national capital though is nothing but deplorable. Several patients do not have the beds for their treatments while some are being required to shift multiple hospitals to get the treatment done.
