Jharkhand: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a letter-cum-summons to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren seeking his availability for questioning in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam, according to media reports.
This is the seventh time CM Soren has been issued a summons by the agency.
ED issued a seventh summons to CM Hemant Soren under section 50 of the PMLA asking him to record his statement at the place , date and time mutually convenient to him as well as the agency in ongoing land scam," ANI reported quoting the sources.
According to the ED, the probe pertains to a "huge racket of illegal change of ownership of land by the mafia" in Jharkhand.
Notably, the investigation agency has arrested 14 people in the case, including 2011-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Chhavi Ranjan who had earlier served as the director of the state social welfare department and deputy commissioner of Ranchi.
