Maharashtra State Government Allows the Applicant to Write the NEET Exam in Urdu: Bombay HC Dismiss Petition as the Grievance of Petitioner Does Not Survive [READ ORDER]

Bombay High Court on Friday (September 11, 2020) noted the State's undertaking as they permit an applicant for the National Eligibility- Cum- Entrance Test to take the examination in her applied language that is Urdu. (Muskaan and Another v. Union of India and others) 

The applicant has applied to give NEET examination in the Urdu language. After the State's undertaking, the two-judge Bench of Justices R K Deshpande and Pushpa V Ganediwala noted that the grievance of the petitioner does not survive. Therefore, the petition stands dismissed, and the state shall be bound by the statement made before the Court. 

In State’s Undertaking, the applicant is allowed to give NEET examination in Urdu and also states that the question paper will also be provided in the Urdu language.

NEET examination is conducted on Sunday, September 13, 2020. About 15 lakh students are expected to appear in the examination. NEET is conducted every year for the admission of undergraduate medical courses in different Government and Private Colleges and MBBS courses. NEET examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency which comes under the ambit of the Central Government.
