As per the official order issued by the Yogi Adityanath led UP Government on 3rd April, 2020 it says that the female health staff and women police will no longer be engaged for providing medical service and security to the members of Islamic group Tablighi Jamaat. This comes after the instances of alleged misbehavior was put forth by some of Tablighi Jamaat members that were lodged in isolation ward. The statement also says that only male health staff and policemen will be deployed in the service of the Jamaat members.
Further to which, the UP government has also decided to book the members under the National Security Act (NSA) under Section 3(2), that states - The Central Government or the State Government may, if satisfied with respect to any person that with a view to preventing him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the security of the State or from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of public order or from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the community it is necessary so to do, make an order directing that such person be detained.
CM Yogi after terming them "enemies of humanity" has said in a statement, "They (accused) will not obey the law. Neither they will accept the system as they are the enemies of humanity. What they have done to women health workers is a heinous crime, they are being slapped with the NSA. We will not spare them."
"An incident like Indore wherein the doctors were attacked should not be seen anywhere in the state, for this, we will take whatever action is required by law," he further added
The Union Minister and Ghaziabad MP Gen (Retd) VK Singh has said that every person shall cooperate with doctors according to the directions issues and if someone happens to misbehave with the health staff therein, strict actions will be taken against them thereon.
Allegedly, the Tablighi Jamaat patients have been putting forth instances of objectionable behavior wherein many of the members are singing obscene songs before the nursing stuff, making obscene gestures, roaming nude and demanding bidi from nurses.
A joint probe by the Ghaziabad Police Chief and Additional District Magistrate has been ordered to look further into the situation.
The members of this Jamaat are responsible for allegedly having spat on the roads and many officials while being taken to Ghaziabad in bus.
The complaint written to the Chief Medical Superintendent says, "Many Jamaat members admitted in the isolation ward of the hospital were misbehaving with the employees and the nursing staff".
The chief medical officer has put forth the instances wherein the patients were asking for cigarettes from the housekeeping staff and making vulgar signs at the nurses. The suspects were seen roaming semi-nude in front of the staff and singing obscene songs. "In such circumstances, it is difficult to treat these patients,"
The matter was brought in front of the Chief Medical Officer, Senior Superintendent and the District Magistrate. The Ghaziabad Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani has said, "The allegations are serious. We won''t tolerate any misbehaviour. ADM Shailendra Singh and Superintendent of Police (City) Manish Mishra are jointly investigating the matter. Based the probe report, strict action will be taken against the culprits,"
