UKs Membership of the European Union formally ends, Queen granted royal assent

Today (June 26th, 2018) Queen of the United Kingdom Elizabeth II has granted royal assent for Brexit law to the British Prime Minister Theresa May.

This has formally ended the United Kingdoms membership from the European Union.

The EU withdrawal Bill was passed by both the Houses of Parliament last week.

House of Commons Speaker John Bercow told lawmakers during a session of the House that I have to notify the House in accordance with the Royal Assent Act, 1967 that her Majesty has signified her royal assent to the following acts.European Union Withdrawal Act, 2018.

The people of United Kingdom in a referendum a vote held on June 23rd, 2016 decided that UK should leave the European Union, thereafter, which debate was initiated over the procedure of exit.
