Aircel-Maxis Case: Chidambaram, Son get Protection from Arrest till August 7

On Tuesday (July 10th, 2018) a Delhi Court has extended the protection from arrest that was granted to Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram and his son, Karti Chidambaram, in the Aircel-Maxis money laundering case till August 7.

Earlier, on May 30, Mr. Chidambaram moved the court to seek protection from arrest in the case, saying that all the evidence in the matter appears to be documentary in nature which is already in the possession of the government and nothing more is required to be recovered from him.

The Aircel-Maxis matter pertains to grant of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to firm M/S Global Communication Holding Services Ltd. for investment in Aircel.
