The Delhi High Court today (December 18, 2019) agreed to hear the plea seeking the constitution of a fact-finding committee to look into the Jamia violence.
The petition filed by Advocate Rizwan was mentioned before a bench comprising of Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, D N Patel and Justice Rekha Palli today.
Chief Justice DN Patel agreed to list the plea for hearing tomorrow (December 19, 2019).
The Supreme Court has ruled that anyone arrested must be informed of the grounds of arrest in writing, extending this right under the UAPA and other laws, citing Articles 22(1) and 22(5) of the Constitution.
