NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has sought trial court records from Rouse Avenue courts here in a case related to an alleged fake status report in disproportionate assets against former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, his son Akhilesh Yadav, daughter-in-law Dimple and other son Prateek in an inquiry ordered by the Supreme Court in 2007 in disproportionate assets case.
A single judge bench of Justice Anu Malhotra fixed a writ petition filed by social activist Vishwanath Chaturvedi for hearing on October 17.
In his plea, Chaturvedi, represented by advocates Deepak Singh, Sushil Dixit and Shashank Tripathi, contended said fake Status reports were fabricated with intent to give clean chit to Mulayam, Akhilesh, Dimple and Prateek in enquiry
directed by the Supreme Court on March 1, 2007.
The top court's order had then come on a PIL by Chaturvedi.
However, some persons entered into a criminal conspiracy to prepare fake and fabricated status reports on the inquiry, which was published by a number of news organisations. With regard to it, an FIR was lodged in March, 2009 for tarnishing the reputation of the CBI.
Subsequently on December 28, 2012, the CBI filed a closure report, citing lack of evidence.
On February 27, 2012, the CBI court allowed the petitioner to file a protest petition. However, since then, the matter has been pending, the petitioner said, seeking direction to the trial court to take cognisance of the matter to proceed against the accused persons.
