NEW DELHI: Delhi police have told a court here that a sessions judge in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district ordered the state police to register a case against former minister and CPI (M) legislator K T Jaleel over his controversial remarks on Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

The court in Pathanamthitta district's Thiruvalla issued the direction while considering a petition moved by RSS leader Arun Mohan, seeking legal action against Jaleel for his "anti-national remarks," the police added.

A status report was filed by the police before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjeet Singh Jaspal on Tuesday in a complaint filed by a Supreme Court advocate, G S Mani.

The police further said that since the incident occurred on social media, the complaint has already been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cyber Cell Unit, Special Cell Delhi on August 15.

On August 13, Mani filed the complaint for registration of the FIR for his "anti-national remarks and Facebook post describing the territory of Jammu & Kashmir as Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir in which people are not happy & the territory of Pakistan Occupied Jammu Kashmir as Azad Kashmir which meant independent territory.

Delhi police, however, said it is ready to obey any direction by the court.

Taking consideration of the status report, the court asked Mani, who appeared as complainant in person, to make his legal submission with authority of law, if any, to proceed with the case for registration of FIR in Delhi and posted the matter for hearing on September 12.
